The IAI christmas party

It is this time of the year again and therefore we need to consider the long and colourful tradition of the IAI christmas party!

I suggest Japanse food and lots of sake will do fine. Maye we try another spot in town this year...

Thoughts and suggestions?

Björn

Uki-yo

This is grand! Yuki-yo!
I wonder, do the Neil'l group members know about the party?
Elena

Uki-yo then! Lets have it

Uki-yo then! Lets have it next week as I am down with a chest infection this week. Would Wednesday be okay? Other suggestions?

Björn

Merry Christmas!

I would like to wish great holidays for IAIdo followers and all the best for whole next year! Smiling

IAI Christmas party Ikimasho!

Seems like people are busy before holidays...
As for me IAI Christmas party might be the chance to meet all Dublin samurai in a great Eastern atmosphere Eye-wink ...Ikimasho!
since yet for my being here I have not met the whole group from Nick and Björn classes...
May be the General Iaido Seminar in January would gather all of us..

Yamamori etc

For my first subjective opinion 'Yamamori udon' is toooo adapted.. Puzzled From 10 points the food takes 6 , service 4 ( I still keep waiting for my water)) and interior [-1]. But it's naive way to think that the place mainly undergo the party's atmosphere. Place does not, people do.
Isn't it?

IAI X-mas

Well, the group members should be dormant because of great weather.. or "ima totemo isogashii desu ne"....I might be banned for spam.. Sad
Nevertheless, may be this will be useful,

I like Aya for their great

I like Aya for their great sushi. But they do other Japanese dishes too. Depending on the amount of people who want to join we might need to consider something else.

Wagamana is nice as well and the food it good. Would be a nice place for a dinner-christmas-fun party I think.

The Yamamori I have never tried, so I can't give you an opinion. Does anybody know it and has something to report?

Lets discuss and agree as we for sure need to make reservations. I would go for a Friday night, because then I can take care of any sake caused issues on Saturday...

Their what?? Their sushi is

Their what?? Their sushi is ok, at best.

Wagamama is a bit in-and-out surely? Not a great place for an extended session ...

I haven't been in Yamamori in a decade at least, so I don't know what it's like now. They overcooked my soba once too often ...

Colman, stop whining. If

Colman, stop whining. Sticking out tongue If you don't like the suggested restaurants make better suggestion!

Uki-yo

I know it's where we were last year, but it seems the most appropriate venue unless people have good things to say about Yamamori.

Yuki-yo

How is Yuki-yo? I know that they have lovely karaoke box there.. Sticking out tongue

X-mas

I will attend the Yamamori for dinner with my friends coming Thusrday.. Seems to be quite nice place to have a party and they have plenty of food and beverages, including sake and plum wine, and traditional drinks as well. Well, lets think about.
Elena

How'd it go?

How was dinner?

Christmas party

It would be great to have a kind of Japanese Christmas Party!
As newcomer to Dojo I do not know well about the traditions here. Does anybody know some nice sushi bar or Japanese restaurant here in Dublin? Puzzled Or should we cook by our own? Eye-wink
