Welcome the BUSHIDO IAIDO CLUB Kilkenny
I am delighted to welcome the Bushido Iaido Club in Kilkenny as a new club joining the Iaido Association of Ireland with immediate effect. Kevin Shortall is the instructor and has a very strong and long Budo history. I would like to welcome Kevin and all his fellow Bushido Iaido Club members in the Association.
I am very pleased that we now are able to provide training for Iaido in Dublin, Bray and Kilkenny and I would hope that out of this many more will follow.
The Iaido Association of Ireland will continue to promote Iaido throughout Ireland forming an umbrella organisation to support instructors and dojos alike and provide insurance cover for all its members. We want to ensure that all Iaido is equally recognised and all dedicated and sincere Iaidoka will be welcome. We believe that in mutual respect we can all follow our individual styles, teachings and practice. The Iaido Association of Ireland's aim is to ensure that quality Iaido can be learned by anyone who wants to do so in Ireland.
With all this in mind the joining of the Bushido Iaido Club Killkenny is a significant affirmation for all of us that Iaido in Ireland is becoming more and more recognised. Thus I would like to thank Kevin and his fellow students for the dedication and effort so far and I am looking forward to a future of mutual respect, training and understanding.
Yours,
Björn O. Fehr
Presidentof the Iaido Association of Ireland
